A couple of local Jr. High football teams hit the gridiron Thursday.
West Liberty-Salem defeated Triad 44-16.
Brandon Wolfe led the Tiger offense with four touchdowns. He had a touchdown run of 25 yards and three touchdown receptions of 75, 53, and 24 yards. Wolfe also had a conversion run and a conversion reception.
Luke Woods threw three touchdown passes, had a 16-yard touchdown run, and recorded two conversion runs.
Braden Miller added a 1-yard touchdown run.
Defensively, Tevon McNutt caused a fumble and recorded an interception, Jerrett Smith recovered a fumble, and Levi Moell had an interception. Smith, Wolfe, Dillon Callicoat, and Trent Schmucker recorded tackles for loss.
The Tigers finished the season 3-4.
For Triad, Dominick Miller and Colby McConnell had touchdowns. McConnell and Derek McCall added conversion receptions.
Riverside lost a hard fought game to Ft. Loramie 16-15.
Caleb Stevens rushed for 103 yards with an 80-yard touchdown run and kicked the extra point.
Tyler Sanford completed a 38-yard touchdown pass to Jack Harshbarger and added a 2-point conversion pass to Gavin Anderson.
Anderson led the defense with 12 solo tackles and Stevens had an interception.
The Pirates are 5-2. They will finish their season next Thursday at home against Upper Scioto Valley.
