Junior Chiefs win CBC JFL title

The CBC JFL League Championship Game took place under the lights at Ben Logan High School Saturday night.

The Bellefontaine Junior Chieftains brought home the title with a tight 12-8 victory over the host Ben Logan Little Raiders.

Scoring for the Jr. Chiefs were Isaac Newman with a 65yd TD catch from Major Stratton, behind a solid offensive line of Quinton Bible, Isaac Belcher, Jack Benton, Tyson Brenner, Hayes Godwin and Collin Mitchell; and interception return for a TD by Jack Clement.

On defense for Bellefontaine, after Ben Logan scored a rushing TD on the first play of their first offensive series, the Chiefs shut them out for the remainder of the game. The defense was led by the solid line play of Bruno Pattison, Hayden Webb, Hayes Godwin, Blake Frazier, Evan Standley, Isaac Belcher, Nate Kurtz, and Dan Miller; DJ McDonald, Major Stratton, and Isaac Newman led the linebacker corps; while Connor Mentzer, Jack Clement, Nick Dolan, Zach Heath, and Jonathan Couch led the secondary.

The Junior Chieftain's defense gave up the fewest points in the league this season.

The Bellefontaine Junior Chieftains finished the season 6-1, avenging their only loss by Ben Logan from the first game of the season.
