Updated: Youth soccer champs crowned

6th, 7th, and 8th grade City League Championship

Hi-Point Nutrition beat Donatos 1-0.

Cambryia Elkins scored the goal. EJ Edu had an assist.

Keeper Anne West recorded the shutout.

The Calvary Christian Spartans finished a perfect season, defeating Huntsville 4-1 in the championship game.

Rylan Studebaker had two goals and Derek Robb and J.C. Patton each had a goal. Robb and Tyler Reinhard each recorded an assist.

Lakeview edged Calvary Christian 6-5 in sudden death for the championship.

The score was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation with Blake Wish contributing the point for the Spartans.

From there, the teams had a shootout with 5 penalty kicks apiece. Haydn Neely, Tyler Barthauer, and Isaac Reinhard all scored off of their shootout kicks, bringing the tally to 4-4.

The game went into sudden death. Both teams missed their first penalty kick before Isaac Dillon chipped in a point, but Lakeview went on to hit their next two kicks to win the game.

Sarah Beddies delivered the game-winning penalty kick.

4th and 5th grade:

AcuSport (pictured) beat Heiby Oil 1-0 to take the championship.

2nd and 3rd grade:

The County Classifieds (pictured) edged McDonald's 4-3 in the championship game.

Dakota Shell scored three goals and Griffin Graham added a goal.


Huntsville #4 won the county championship on Saturday.

In the semifinal game, Huntsville #4 defeated Huntsville #2 1-0.

Jackson Young scored the lone goal and Ryan Culp recorded the shutout in goal.

In the championship game, Huntsville #4 defeated Lakeview Carpella's Sportswear 2-1.

Avery Pequignot scored both goals for the winners.

Huntsville #4 finished the season 9-0-1.

For Lakeview, Landen Wisener scored their lone goal.

Lakeview went 10-1-1 this fall.
