Lady Raiders drop league opener, busy night on Jr. High hardwood

Several local girls basketball teams hit the court Monday night.

The Benjamin Logan varsity girls dropped their league opener at Greenon 51-43.

The Knights took control early, outscoring the Raiders 30-11 in the first half.

Senior guard Jessica Yoder led the Raiders with 17 points, including three 3-pointers.

Domonique Johnson tossed in 14 points.

The Raiders are 0-2.

Benjamin Logan won the JV contest 41-29.

Darrian Bricker scored 11 points.

Benjamin Logan will visit Kenton Wednesday night.

Jr. High:

The Indian Lake 8th grade team ran past Bellefontaine 34-20.

Samantha Miller had a game-high 15 points with three steals.

Brooke Lewis recorded 10 points and 8 rebounds. Morgan Evilsizor tallied 3 points and 8 rebounds.

Kelson Stidam had 4 points and Katelyn Hogan added 2 points.

For Bellefontaine, Amarii Vickers had 12 points and three steals.

Terra Knight scored 4 points.

Madeline Levine and Mercedes Brown each had a basket.

Levine and Kassidy Sullivan shined on defense.

Bellefontaine (0-2) will host Indian Valley on Wednesday.

The Bellefontaine 7th grade team stifled Indian Lake 25-6.

Emily Mitchell had 9 points, Zoe Price tallied 6 steals, and Megan Dyer and Kaitlyn Baughman each collected 7 rebounds.

The Lady Chiefs are 2-0. They will host Indian Valley Wednesday at 5:30.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade team handled South Vienna 47-20.

Jonni Parker had 20 points and three assists.

Laine Godwin recorded 7 points and three rebounds. Kenedie Cox led the defense with three steals.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade team defeated South Vienna 35-9.

The Tigers held the Trojans scoreless in the second half.

Lily Yoder had 15 points and three assists, Olivia Ames scored 6 points, Mikaila McIntosh recorded 6 steals and four rebounds, and Kiana Reames grabbed 6 rebounds.
