The West Liberty-Salem girls’ basketball team traveled to Riverside Thursday night.
The varsity Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Pirates 56-24.
Melany Ward led the Lady Tigers with 15 points and Maria Daulton and Taylor Day each contributed 8 points.
For Riverside, Morgan Robison scored 5 points.
The Lady Tigers' defense came out strong in the first quarter holding Riverside to 1 point, 16-1.
West Liberty-Salem led at halftime 33-14.

The Benjamin Logan 7th grade girls team defeated Mad River 30-18 in their season-opener.
Nikki Current had 17 points and McKenzie McManus scored 8 points.
The 8th grade Lady Raiders beat Mad River 23-14 in their first game of the season.
Hayley Boysel had 11 points and 14 steals.
