Updated: Lady Chiefs come up short in final minute of shootout with Kenton Ridge - complete basketball scoreboard

Bellefontaine lost a hard fought battle versus rival Kenton Ridge in the closing seconds of the game Saturday night at Bellefontaine High School 75-72.

The Lady Chiefs went shot for shot with the Cougars and had an open look at a game-tying three as time expired that hit the front of the rim.

Jazmyn Haley led the Lady Chiefs with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Sajah Carter and Kameren Haley each had ten points. Regan Price added 12 points and 3 assists while Brenda Johnson scored 11 points.

KR was paced by shooting 42% from the 3-point line, making 9 threes on the night. Bellefontaine outrebounded the Cougars 34-28.

The JV Lady Chiefs lost 44-39. Ashley Artis was the top scorer with 14 points.

The Lady Chiefs (4-2) are back in action Monday night at Kenton with a 6:00 JV start.

The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders won a close game 49-43 against Graham.

Senior guard Jessica Yoder had 16 points and Ciarra Wirick added 10 points.

The Raiders ran away with the JV contest 55-11. Lauren Oglesbee scored 11 points.

Benjamin Logan's next game is Wednesday at Triad.

Riverside fell at home to Jackson Center 50-34.

Brooke Hickey led the Pirates with 10 points.

Riverside is 0-5.

Jackson Center also won the JV game by a score of 51-20. Taylor Stevens and Ashlyn Wray each scored five points for the Pirates.

Mechanicsburg ran away from the West Liberty-Salem Lady Tigers 57-37.

Maria Daulton scored 11 points for the Tigers (2-4, 1-2).

West Liberty-Salem edged the Indians in the JV contest 39-37. Lauren Godwin led the winners with 11 points. Mia Walters chipped in eight points.

Other girls varsity scores:

Urbana dropped Northwestern 76-50.

Greenon topped Indian Lake 58-44.

Sidney beat Houston 53-37.

Marion Local knocked off Russia 53-45.

In a boys varsity game, Riverside lost at Jackson Center 64-35.

Luke Greene scored 14 points for the Pirates.

Riverside is 0-3.

Alex Meyer paced Jackson Center with 18 points and Trey Elchert added 11.

The Tigers are 4-0.

Other boys varsity scores:

Benjamin Logan edged host Waynesfield-Goshen 54-53.

The Raiders outscored the Tigers 19-13 in the final quarter.

Dalton Greene had 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Benjamin Logan is 3-2.

Kenton defeated Upper Scioto Valley 62-52.

Minster beat Russia 61-53.

Anna dropped a tight game 79-76 to New Knoxville.

The Benjamin Logan 7th and 8th grade girls both improved to 4-0 with Saturday morning wins over Fairbanks.

The 8th grade girls struggled offensively but shined defensively, forcing Fairbanks into 35 turnovers and winning 21-10. Hayley Boysel scored 10 points, Addie Rodenberger had a season-high 6, Coreen Crosby scored 3, and Darian Rockhold had 2 points.

The 7th grade girls won 50-10 as Nikki Current recorded her first triple-double with 27 points, 14 steals, and 10 rebounds. MacKenzie McManus scored 12 points, Lexi Stewart dropped in 7, and Savanah Smucker and Kenzie Jones each had 2 points.

The girls are back in action on Monday as they host Springfield Shawnee.

The Benjamin Logan 7th grade boys defeated Fairbanks on Saturday 41-40.

The Raiders scoring was led by Hunter Niece with 15 points. Grant Ward and Jake Henman each added 8 points and the Raiders picked up some crucial bench points from Zane Schiederer and Skilar Jordan.

The Benjamin Logan 8th grade boys lost to Fairbanks 51-42.

Austin Van Buskirk poured in a game-high 22 points and Joel Dixon added 11.

Jacob Crouse provided strong defense off the bench.

It was the Raiders first loss of the season.

The Riverside 8th grade boys were edged by Botkins 48-45 to fall to 2-2 on the season.

The 7th grade Pirates nipped Botkins in overtime 40-37 to move to 2-2.

Trey Lane and Caleb Stevens each had 12 points, Gavin Stallard tossed in 10 points, and Jason Yoder had 6.

Tri-County League:

The Bellefontaine 6th grade girls team defeated Marysville 27-9 Sunday.

Aubrey Stolly had 15 points and Hannah Rader dropped in 4 points.

Bailey Morales and Hara Brown anchored the defense.

Anne West and Rader each grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Chiefs (1-1) will play at Mechanicsburg vs. Fairbanks on Sunday.
