Facing a three-point deficit late in the second quarter Friday, Bellefontaine turned on the afterburners and dropped a 14-0 run on host Kenton Ridge to close the half. Riding the 10-point lead out of the break, the Chieftains cruised the final two periods, posting a 21-point, 58-37 win over the Cougars.

Bellefontaine standout Matt Gump scored a career-high 27 points. He was named the Steve Austin's Player of the Game.
The Chiefs are now 2-2 on the year and will host Sidney Tuesday for a non-league tilt. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30.
The Benjamin Logan/Graham contest Friday heard on 98.3 WPKO was just the opposite, as it turned into a nail-biter before the Falcons pulled out a five-point, 49-44 win.
