Updated: Chiefs skin Cougars, Falcons claw out a win over the Raiders - Basketball scoreboard

Facing a three-point deficit late in the second quarter Friday, Bellefontaine turned on the afterburners and dropped a 14-0 run on host Kenton Ridge to close the half. Riding the 10-point lead out of the break, the Chieftains cruised the final two periods, posting a 21-point, 58-37 win over the Cougars.

All of the action could be heard on 1390 WBLL, the Home of the Chieftains.

Bellefontaine standout Matt Gump scored a career-high 27 points. He was named the Steve Austin's Player of the Game.

The Chiefs are now 2-2 on the year and will host Sidney Tuesday for a non-league tilt. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30.

The Benjamin Logan/Graham contest Friday heard on 98.3 WPKO was just the opposite, as it turned into a nail-biter before the Falcons pulled out a five-point, 49-44 win.

Devon Allen popped in 15 points for the winners and was named the Steve Austin's Player of the Game.

The Raiders (3-4, 1-1) have a week off before taking the floor to host CBC rival Urbana on Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30.

Graham improves to 3-1, 2-0.

West Liberty-Salem stopped Northeastern 61-46.

The Tigers (4-1) have won four straight. Five players were in double figures, led by Landon Hormann with 14.

The JV Tigers lost 34-32. Ross Kelley had 11 points.

Fairbanks ran past Riverside 54-35.

Upper Scioto Valley downed Ridgemont 62-46. Josh Corbin paced the Gophers (0-5, 0-1) with 16 points.

Indian Lake dropped an 86-80 decision at Greenon.

Greeneview topped Triad 75-53.

Fairlawn outlasted Houston 55-47.

Jackson Center stifled Lehman 58-33. The Tigers are 6-0.

Botkins edged Anna 56-53.

St. Henry handled Minster 65-43.

Kenton defeated St. Marys 48-40.

Spencerville blitzed Ada 67-42.

Versailles beat New Knoxville 65-50.

Waynesfield-Goshen defeated Lima Perry 62-50.
