Swimming standout Tavenner making a splash

Skyler Tavenner (pictured), an eighth-grader at Indian Lake Middle School, has had an outstanding start to the winter swimming season.

Tavenner, who swims for the AMFY Waves, won the 200 free, 100 butterfly, and 100 backstroke at the season-opening meet on October 27th.

The following week at the Great White meet in Celina, he recorded firsts in the 50 free, 200 IM, 50 fly, and 50 back.

On November 10th, Tavenner won the Sidney Pentathlon in his age division. He was presented a gold medal. He placed first in the 100 back, 100 free, 100 fly, and 200 IM. Skyler finished fourth in the 100 breast.

On November 17th, Tavenner was the overall point leader in his age division. He was first in the 200 IM, 100 fly, and 100 free.
