On 1390 WBLL, the Bellefontaine varsity boys edged visiting Sidney 54-49 in overtime.
Matt Gump (pictured shooting a free throw) scored 20 points and received Steve Austin's Auto Group Player of the Game honors. Max Oyer recorded 10 points and Brett Wisner and A.J. Gorham each added 8 points for the Chiefs.
For Sidney, Tyree Manley scored 16 points, Lorenzo Taborn tallied 11 points, and James Daniel and Eric Beigel each scored 8 points.
The Chiefs led at the end of the 1st quarter 14-13, but trailed by ten points at halftime, 27-17.
The Chiefs outscored the Yellow Jackets 17-9 in the 3rd to trail 36-34.
The Chiefs and Yellow Jackets tied at the end of regulation, 47-47.
In overtime, the Chiefs outscored Sidney 7-2 to win 54-49.
The Chiefs have won three straight to improve to 3-2 and will host Tipp City Friday on WBLL.
