Several local basketball teams were in action Thursday.
98.3 WPKO was live at West Liberty-Salem as the Lady Tigers played host to Benjamin Logan.
In a game that was close at halftime, Benjamin Logan used a strong 3rd quarter to pull away from WL-S. The score was 31-26 at halftime with the Raiders holding the 5 point edge. Then the Raiders shot right out of the gate in the third quarter with 9 straight points and they never looked back. They outscored the Tigers 25-6 in the third quarter en route to a 71-33 victory. The Raiders only allowed 7 points in the second half.
The Raiders were paced by Jessica Yoder who was hot from 3-point land. Yoder sank 7 threes on the night tying a school record. At on point she was a perfect 6 for 6 behind the arc before missing in the 4th quarter. She finished the night with 24 points and taking home the Steve Austin's Player of the Game honor. Ciarra Wirick chipped in 17 for Benjamin Logan.
For the Lady Tigers, Maria Daulton tallied 15 points and Melany Ward contributed 11.
The Raiders are now 6-5 on the season and will play league rival Indian Lake on Saturday while West Liberty-Salem falls to 5-7.

The Bellefontaine 8th grade boys defeated Ridgemont 55-45 Thursday.
Hayden Nease scored 16 points, Jacob Miller recorded 11 points, Dewayne Davis totaled 8 points, and Turner Scott added 6 points.
The 8th grade Chiefs improve to 6-1 and travels to Indian Lake Monday.
The Bellefontaine 7th grade boys topped Ridgemont 37-19.
Spencer George scored 13 points, Nick Lyons recorded 8 points, and Tommy Belser and Evan Smith each added 4 points.
The 7th grade Chiefs improve to 3-4 on the season.

Amarii Vickers recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals, Mercedes Brown tallied 8 points, 2 rebounds and a steal, Kassidy Sullivan contributed 6 points and 4 steals, Terra Knight had 4 points and 5 rebounds, Sabella Martin produced 2 points and 5 rebounds, and Madelyn Levine added 2 points.
The 7th grade Lady Chiefs beat Ridgemont as well Thursday at home. The final score was 32-18.
McKenzie Haley scored seven points and Emily Mitchell had six points to help lead the Lady Chiefs to victory.
The 7th and 8th grade Lady Chiefs host Indian Lake Monday.
The Calvary Christian boys' basketball team lost to Fairlawn Thursday 49-32.
The loss brings the team's record to 3-1.
Parker Grothaus led the Spartans with 16 points and six rebounds. Andrew Reinhard added four points.
