Chiefs roll past Pirates – Thursday Basketball Scoreboard

The Bellefontaine Lady Chiefs tandem of Jazmyn and Kameren Haley proved to be too much for host Riverside as Bellefontaine rolled past the Pirates 52-25 in a non-league basketball game Thursday night.

Kameren Haley led all scorers with 12 points, while her sister Jazmyn knocked in 11 points, including eight in the fourth quarter.

Bellefontaine led throughout the game, jumping out to a 16-4 first quarter lead and never looking back, leading 24-11 at the half and 36-17 going into the fourth.

With the win, the Lady Chieftains are now 11-6 on the year.

Sophomore standout Brooke Hickey paced the Pirate attack with 11 points. The Pirates fall to 3-14.

In the JV game, Bellefontaine held Riverside to one first-half point, taking a 22-1 lead into the locker room, eventually winning the game, 52-11.

Ashley Artis netted 12 points to lead the visitors. Emily Teague led the Pirates with seven points.

Both teams will again see action Saturday, Bellefontaine travels to CBC rival Tipp City for a 7:30 PM tip for the varsity game, while Riverside travels to Bethel. Tip-off is scheduled for noon.

Jr. High:

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade boys defeated Miamiview 32-30.

Brandon Wolfe recorded 16 points and Luke Woods and Dillon Callicoat each added 4 points.

The 8th grade Tigers improve to 10-2.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade boys beat Miamiview 49-40.

James Loffing totaled 17 points, Cody King tallied 9 points, and Neil Markin and Braden Miller each contributed 6 points.

The 7th grade Tigers climb to 11-1 on the season.

Both West Liberty-Salem Junior High boys’ team will host Springfield Catholic Saturday.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade girls fell to Miamiview 33-20.

Lily Yoder had 7 points and 5 rebounds, Ashley Rabenstein tossed in 6 points, and Kianna Reames tallied 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

WLS is 13-2.

The Lady Tigers 7th grade team handled Miamiview 37-8.

Aubrie Stillings led the way with 12 points and 2 assists, Jonni Parker recorded 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals, Taylor Lauck and Julie Parker dropped in 4 points apiece, and Kennedie Cox added 3 assists and 2 steals.

The Tigers are 14-1. They open tournament play against visiting Mechanicsburg Saturday morning.

The Indian Lake 8th grade boys defeated Mad River 39-25.

Alex Jacobs had 15 points and 11 rebounds, Tyler Reprogle contributed 13 points and 4 rebounds, Nate Kaffenbarger scored 4 points, Jacob Brunson, Dylan Albright, and Gabe Reichert each tallied 2 points, and Justin Young added a point.

The 8th grade Lakers are 13-0. They will visit Springfield Shawnee Thursday.

The Indian Lake 8th grade girls beat Mad River 36-33.

Sammi Miller totaled 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals, Brooke Lewis produced 8 points and 6 rebounds, Hannah Avila scored 4 points, and Morgan Evilsizor, Kelson Stidam, and Olivia Amspaugh each added 2 points.

The 8th grade Lady Lakers improve to 8-7 on the season.

The Benjamin Logan 8th grade girls handled Tecumseh 37-19.

Coreen Crosby scored 14 points, Hayley Boysel recorded 13 points, Addie Rodenberger tallied 6 points, Darian Rockhold contributed 2 points, and Kierstynn Deickert and Brooke Watson each made a foul shot.

The 8th grade Lady Raiders improve to 11-2 on the season.

The Benjamin Logan 7th grade girls beat Tecumseh 34-29.

Nikki Current sunk 22 points, Jazi McKeen tallied 8 points, and Stevie Plikerd and Madison Jones each added 2 points.

The 7th grade Lady Raiders remain perfect at 14-0.

The Benjamin Logan Junior High girls’ teams travel to Kenton Monday.

The Benjamin Logan 7th grade boys lost to Tecumseh 51-26.

Jake Henman, Hunter Niece, and Daniel McPherson each contributed 6 points.

The Bellefontaine 8th grade boys lost at Tipp City 38-31.

Hayden Nease sunk 14 points and DeWaine Davis added 8.

The 8th grade Chiefs drop to 9-3 and host Fairbanks Monday.

The Bellefontaine 7th grade boys fell to Tipp City 38-23.

Nick Lyons and Spencer George each scored 6 points and Evan Smith added 4.

The 7th grade Chiefs fall to 6-6.

The Bellefontaine 8th grade girls lost to Tipp City 42-15.

Amarii Vickers recorded 12 points and 6 steals, Sabella Martin produced 2 points and 11 rebounds, and Kassidy Sullivan added a point.

The Bellefontaine 7th grade girls fell to Tipp City 57-13.

Zoe Price scored 7 points.

The 7th grade Lady Chiefs fall to 9-5 and travel to Fairbanks Monday.

The Calvary Christian Junior High Spartans edged Lima Temple 34-33.

Parker Grothaus scored 18 points, Josh Kilgore tallied 12 points, and Tyler Reinhard and Daniel Wilt each added 2 points.

Josiah Kratz and Clayton Slemmons shined on defense.
