A few area basketball teams competed in late season play Monday.
The Riverside freshman boys defeated Bethel 34-23.
Jesse Kean had 11 points and 10 rebounds, Shane Crawford contributed 9 points, and Ross Stevens added 7 points.
The freshman Pirates finished the season 8-2.
The Indian Lake 8th grade girls handled Mad River 30-17 in tournament play Monday.
Sammi Miller recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists, Morgan Evilsizor scored 6 points, Brooke Lewis tallied 4 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals, and Olivia Amspaugh added 4 points.
The Lady Lakers improve to 9-7 and 9-4 in the league and play in the CBC semifinals at Tipp City on Thursday at 6:45.
The Bellefontaine 7th grade girls fell to Mad River 37-22 in the second round of the CBC tournament.
Emily Mitchell had 7 points and 7 rebounds, Kaitlyn Baughman poured in 7 points, and Beigh Wilson added 4 points.
The Chiefs went 12-6 this season.
Over the weekend, the Bellefontaine 6th grade boys competed in two games and improved to 8-1 in the Tri-County League.
Bellefontaine defeated Marysville 49-17.
Jack Clement scored 25 points, Trevon Wilgus recorded 12 points, Tremayne Wilson tallied 4 points, Aaron Malarkey delivered 5 assists, and Evan Standley grabbed 7 rebounds.
In the second game, Bellefontaine beat Riverside Red 15-9.
Derek McNutt produced 6 points, Jackson Cottingham had 5 points, and Colby Henry added 4 points.
Michael Horvath led in assists and Kasin Davis-Hughes led in steals.
