The CBC junior high boys’ basketball tournament was in full swing Monday.
The Bellefontaine 8th grade defeated Springfield Shawnee 49-23 to advance to the semifinals.
Hayden Nease (pictured) scored 24 points and Dawsin Tillman contributed 12 points.
The 8th grade Chiefs improve to 13-3 and travel to Tipp City Thursday at 5:30.
The Bellefontaine 7th grade lost to Tipp City 32-23.
Spencer George scored 9 points and Nick Lyons and Drew Benton each added 4 points.
The 7th grade Chiefs ended the season with a 10-7 record.
The Indian Lake 8th grade beat Tecumseh 64-53.
Alex Jacobs recorded 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists, Nate Kaffenbarger tallied 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals, Tyler Reprogle totaled 8 points and 6 rebounds, Andrew Hulbert scored 3 points, Josh Shelton had 2 points, and Dalton Faler and Justin Young each added a point.
The 8th grade Lakers host the winner of Northridge and Graham Thursday in the CBC semifinals.
The Benjamin Logan 7th grade fell to Springfield Shawnee 55-42 in the second round of the CBC tournament.
Jake Henman totaled 17 points, Grant Ward contributed 9 points, and Bryden Penhorwood, Daniel McPherson, and Hunter Niece each added 4 points.
The 7th grade Raiders finished their season at 9-9.
