The Bellefontaine Chieftains and Indian Lake Lakers tangled on the court in a varsity boys contest at Indian Lake Saturday night on 1390 WBLL.
The Chiefs opened up with a strong offense, posting 19 points and an 8-point lead before clamping down on defense in the second quarter, outscoring the Lakers 16-6 for a 34-17 halftime lead.
Bellefontaine came out after the break with another offensive blitz, putting up 24 points to Indian Lake’s 14, and then coasted through the fourth quarter to a 71-42 blowout.
The offensive total represented the Chieftains highest point total of the season.
Senior Logan Mitchell led the attack with 20 points, Matt Gump tossed in 17, Max Oyer recorded 8 points and 10 rebounds, and Tristin Tillman scored 8.
The Chiefs finish the regular season 12-10; the Lakers went 6-16.

#1 seed and state fourth-ranked Ft. Loramie decimated Riverside 92-15.
Ft. Loramie raced out to a 33-2 lead after one quarter and led 57-7 at the half.
The balanced Redskins outscored the Pirates 17-3 in the third quarter and 18-5 in the final period.
Darian Rose scored 16 for the winners, while Brooke Hickey led the Pirates with 7.
Ft. Loramie (20-3) will play Ansonia Wednesday.
The Pirates went 5-18 this year.
Botkins knocked off Troy Christian 64-43 and will advance to play Russia Tuesday.
Mechanicsburg advanced with a 71-43 win over Lehman. The Indians will battle Fairlawn Tuesday.
Triad outscored Houston 72-62. The Cardinals now play Jackson Center on Wednesday.
