Several area girls basketball teams played sectional semifinal tournament games last night.
In Division IV at Sidney, Triad used a fast start to defeat Jackson Center 58-40.
The Cardinals led 17-7 after the opening quarter and 30-18 at the half.
Sharpshooter Faith Orecchio led the winners with 20 points, including 3 three-pointers.
Triad drained 9 three-pointers.
The Cardinals (18-6) will face top-seeded Ft. Loramie (21-3) in the sectional final Saturday at two p.m.
Freshman Pauline Meyer led Jackson Center with 14 points. Senior Hannah Meyer added 11.
The Tigers finish the season 5-18.
Ft. Loramie steamrolled Ansonia 90-20.
Division II at Tecumseh:
Kenton Ridge shot past Greenville 61-44.
Eaton edged Tipp City 49-47.
The Cougars and Eagles will play for the sectional title Saturday at 12:30.
Division III at Tipp City:
Anna handled Dixie 91-36.
Versailles stifled Arcanum 71-19.
The Rockets will battle the Tigers in the sectional final Saturday at 12:30.
