Varsity Tigers earn close win, Pirates fall

Area ball teams hit the diamond Tuesday evening.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity baseball team edged Northeastern 8-7.

Spencer Whitcraft scored 3 runs and produced 2 RBIs and Max Bailey recorded 4 RBIs.

Grant Burden earned the win from the mound giving up 9 hits and striking out 3. Cole Wilson earned the save.

The West Liberty-Salem JV boys beat Northeastern 11-8.

The Riverside varsity baseball team fell to Bradford 5-1.

Dalton Bollinger doubled and Dallas Daniels and Jake Herron each contributed a hit.

The Pirates fall to 1-3 on the year.

On Monday, the Bellefontaine Red JV team defeated West Liberty-Salem 15-2.

For the JV Chiefs, Lane Kiser, Joe Oliver, John Kirby, and Aaron Rutherford each contributed 2 RBIs in the win.

From the mound, Kyle Brunner allowed 2 runs and sat down 4.

The Riverside varsity softball team lost to Bradford 14-9.

Karli Castle homered and tallied 3 RBIs, Heather Comer doubled twice, and Taylor Nichols added a double.

Christyn Wietholter struck out 3 and Jessica Davis contributed 2 strikeouts.

The Lady Pirates fall to 3-1 on the season.

The Ridgemont varsity girls fell to Ada 13-1.
