Updated: Bellefontaine baseball suffers second straight shutout – Tuesday scorecard (Audio included)

The Bellefontaine varsity baseball team suffered its second straight shutout Tuesday.

The Chiefs fell to Tipp City 8-0 at Blue Jacket Park on 1390 WBLL.

Red Devils starter Steven Calhoun (pictured) was dominant. The Toledo recruit gave up three hits and struck out seven in six plus innings. He was named the Steve Austin’s Auto Group Player of the Game.

Also for the Tipp City, Carter Langdon belted a 2-run homer and Cameron Johnson had three hits and scored three runs.

The Red Devils are 14-2 overall and 8-1 in the CBC.

For the Chiefs, Josh Clifton suffered the loss. Brandon Wilson, Tyler Shamblin, and Matt Entsminger all contributed hits.

The Chiefs fall to 9-3 and 4-3 in the league and host Northwestern Thursday.

The Bellefontaine Red JV baseball team shut out Tipp City 4-0.

Kyle Brunner fired 10 strikeouts and Joe Oliver and Andrew Mitchell each doubled.

The Riverside varsity baseball team topped Ridgemont 11-0.

Dustin Proffitt tripled twice and scored 2 runs and Dallas Daniels contributed 3 RBIs and 2 runs.

The Pirates improve to 10-6 and 4-0 in league play and travel to Lima Perry Thursday.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity baseball team fell to Mechanicsburg 5-4.

The Indians scored five runs in the top of the sixth inning.

For WLS, Trent Thomas and Grant Burden each tallied 2 RBIs, Cole Wilson recorded five strikeouts, and Kyle Crawford suffered the loss.

The West Liberty-Salem JV baseball team defeated Mechanicsburg 11-5.

Ryan Conley was the winning pitcher, Rickey Lowe doubled totaling 2 RBIs, and Dusty Moell doubled with 2 RBIs.

The Benjamin Logan varsity baseball team lost to Urbana 5-1.

Zane Collins sat down 10 in the loss and Todd Coleman doubled.

The Benjamin Logan varsity softball team fell to Urbana 4-0.

Brooklyn Terrill suffered the loss.

For Urbana, Kristen Shank threw 6 strikeouts.

The Riverside varsity softball team beat Ridgemont 11-1.

The Indian Lake Middle School softball team outscored Benjamin Logan Gold 8-3.

Kati Bowsher had a home run, a triple, and four RBIs.

Bowsher and Hailey Wallace combined for 14 Ks.
