Chiefs top Raiders, Pirates shut out Triad – Thursday scorecard

Area ball clubs were in action on the diamond Thursday.

The Bellefontaine varsity baseball team defeated Benjamin Logan 13-3 in six innings on 1390 WBLL (pictured).

Brandon Wilson went 4 for 4 with three singles, a double and 4 RBIs while Matt Entsminger reached base five times with 2 singles, 3 walks and belted 2 RBI's.

For the Raiders, Austin Cline tallied 2 RBIs and Tyler Tevis scored 2 runs.

The Chiefs scored in every inning except the 4th.  They raced out to an early 7-2 lead.  Benjamin Logan had a golden chance to cut in to the lead in the middle of the game with 2 outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd, trailing 7-3, they grounded out to end the inning.  Two innings later the Chiefs run-ruled the Raiders.

The Bellefontaine Red JV baseball team beat Benjamin Logan 11-1.

John Kirby struck out three. Nick Ruble and Kyle Brunner each recorded 2 RBIs.

The Riverside varsity baseball team shut out Triad 3-0.

Dustin Proffitt fired a complete game.

Dalton Bollinger had two hits, Luke Greene recorded a hit and an RBI, and Tanner Lane added a hit and scored twice.

Riverside improves to 14-8 and host Botkins Friday.

The West Liberty-Salem JV baseball team defeated Bethel 16-4.

Layne Bowman contributed 4 RBIs and Dusty Moell was the winning pitcher.

The Riverside varsity softball team fell to Triad 4-1.

The Lady Pirates fall to 14-7.

The Bellefontaine varsity softball team edged Benjamin Logan 3-2.

Sidney Dew earned the win.

Jenna Vanhoose and Addi Brown each drove in a run.

For Benjamin Logan, Kate Campbell had two hits and two RBIs.

The Indian Lake varsity softball team ran past Dayton Stebbins 9-2.

The Lakers took control early, scoring six runs in the first inning.

Claire Maier tossed a six-hitter and tallied eight Ks.

Taylor Dixon, Shelby McMann, and Ashley Franks combined for five hits and three RBIs.
