Local soccer standout helps his team win Jr. Cup tourney

The Classics Eagles U11 Black soccer team improved their season record to 7-3-1 over the weekend by winning the Jr. Cup Soccer Tournament held in New Albany.

Classics won the championship by defeating OP Eagles Black 5-2, Springfield Thunder Navy 2-1, Crew Jrs. New Albany 5-1, then knocked off Crew Jrs. Gold in the championship game 4-1.

Local standout Ethan Pequignot (pictured middle front row) scored a goal in game one and helped power the team to a perfect record over the weekend.

Pequignot has also been selected to the ODP (Olympic Development Program) State Pool training that is scheduled to take place in June. He will attempt to secure a position on the ODP State team and advance to the Regional Camp that will be held in Illinois.
