Updated: Lions Club tops East Liberty in Pony League – full scoreboard

Area ball clubs took to the field Thursday.

Pony League:

Bellefontaine Lions Club defeated East Liberty 9-5.

Turner Scott tripled, Christian Kelley, Reid Gleason, and Garrett Coons each doubled, and Ryan Sebring recorded three hits.

Little League:

Huntsville #2 McKeestown Trading Post beat Bellefontaine #3 A&E Campgrounds 17-6.

Ethan Parker belted a grand slam and Garrett Gross homered and singled.

Seth Shields, John Zumberger, Adrian Ramos, Ethan Fulkerson, and Gross combined for 4 strikeouts over the 4-inning game.

Huntsville improves to 10-0.

Huntsville #1 Logan County Co-op ran past Bellefontaine #1 McDonald's 16-3.

Aaron Malarkey earned the win. He struck out five.

Julien Barnes struck out three.

Caleb Taylor had three hits with two doubles. Bryce Ramsey belted a double.

Washington beat West Liberty #2 7-5.

Alex McClelland and Austin Beck combined for ten Ks.

Beck smacked a home run and Chris Murphy added a triple.

For West Liberty, Tyler Smith belted two triples.

Washington moves to 8-2.

Farm League:

BPD handled Brown's Tree Service 15-1.

Pitchers Jeremy Baughman and TJ Kerns teamed up for ten strikeouts.

Jarrid Baughman had a grand slam.

Kerns recorded two hits, Jacob Mitchell had a double, and Braden Frazier added a hit.

For Brown's Tree Service, Jaeden Campbell had a double.

Campbell and Justin Carper combined for eight Ks.

Youth softball:


Lakeview #1 Osgood State Bank played two make up games.

Lakeview #1 defeated Lakeview #2 15-6.

In the nightcap, Lakeview #1 blanked West Liberty 15-0.

Mercedes Brown won the first game with five Ks; Meliesha Hengsteler earned the victory in the second game with seven strikeouts.

For the night, Erin Whitcher and Madison Krock each drove in four runs. Mercedes Brown and Bailee Benton each recorded three RBIs.


Bellefontaine McDonald's beat West Liberty 10-2.

Lauren Hemminger, Jakada Johnson, McKenzie Clark, and Jalen Brown recorded four double plays.

Brown, Hannah Rader, and Alli Stein had two hits apiece.

Bellefontaine Area Church Softball League:

Huntsville United Methodist Church topped First Baptist Church of Urbana 29-9.

Bellefontaine 1st Church of God #2 beat Quest Community Church West Liberty 22-19.
