The 2013 Logan County Summer Baseball Camp kicked off on Monday at Blue Jacket Park and ran through Thursday to the delight of the young campers.
The camp was started under the last Bellefontaine High School baseball coaching regime and has been continued by the current staff led by head coach Art Caudill (pictured talking to the campers). The campers ranged from ages 5-14 and spent the week participating in a variety of drills. The staff, a number of high school volunteers, and former players all taught the campers how to improve their infielding, outfielding, catching, pitching, hitting, and baserunning.
Caudill said how the ultimate goal of the week was for the campers to have fun while improving their knowledge and skills. He also noted how he’d like to see more campers and coaches participate in future camps. “I’d like to see us be able to get more kids out here and possibly get some other coaches from the area.”

The camp lasted from 9 to 12 every morning. Campers were also awarded prizes throughout the week and received a t-shirt.
