Local youth team captures Chieftain Classic

The Bellefontaine Chieftains 10U travel baseball team won the Chieftain Classic earlier this week.

In pool play, the Chiefs defeated Graham 7-5, lost to Springfield 6-5, and beat Ada 5-1. In the semifinal, Bellefontaine beat Ada 3-1. The Chiefs then defeated Springfield 4-1 to win the championship.

Pitchers Brian Bush, Jeremy Baughman, Robby Wildermuth, Jaeden Campbell, and Connor Rose shined throughout the tournament.

Ethan Moore and Jarrid Baughman pitched in the finals.

Offensively for the Chiefs, Connor Rose had a triple, Ethan Moore belted two doubles, and Jarrid Baughman, Aden Downing, and Jaeden Campbell each doubled.

The Chiefs have won three tournaments this summer.
