Bellefontaine 10u baseball captures 2nd in tournament

The Bellefontaine Chieftains 10u baseball team placed second at the 28th annual Chick Stewart Memorial Tournament in Rockford over the weekend.

In pool play, the Chiefs beat Bradford 9-3. Brian Bush, Jeremy Baughman, and Connor Rose pitched for the win. The Chiefs then edged Parkway Grey 3-2 with Ethan Moore and Jarrid Baughman sharing the mound duties.

In tournament play, the Chieftains again defeated Parkway Grey 9-8. Connor Rose was named MVP of the game. In the finals Bellefontaine lost to Greenville 10-5. Jarrid Baughman was MVP for the Chiefs.

Offensively for the tournament, Jaeden Campbell hit an over the fence home run, Jarrid Baughman had a triple and two doubles, and Doby Orahood smacked a triple. Aden Downing, Connor Rose, and Robby Wildermuth each hit doubles.

For the season the Chiefs have won 4 tournaments with 2 runners up finishes.
