Lady Lakers set school record in big win; Monday golf scores

Many local high school golf teams took to the greens Monday.

Girls Golf

Indian Lake set a new school record for nine holes by defeating Waynesfield-Goshen 175-230 at Cherokee Hills.

Morgan Barnett and Kylie Speicher were co-medalists with a 38, Sean Pusey shot a 42, and Ashley Wall and Murphy Oberle each fired a 57.

Chelsea Spencer led Waynesfield-Goshen with a 52, Kennedy Rumer followed with a 55, Kiersten Wilcox recorded a 61, ElvaAnn Shephard fired a 62, Danielle Heintz tallied a 68, and Hannah Williams added a 74.

Bellefontaine edged Graham 198-199.

Medalist Chelsea McLaughlin shot a 42.

Kathleen Coakley had a 49, Allie Skelly a 53, Sarah Hall a 54, and Emily Fulmer a 57.

Riverside fell to visiting Springfield Catholic 190-238 at Cherokee Hills.

Destany Jones and Monica Hurley each shot a team-best 51 for the Pirates.

Boys Golf

Benjamin Logan beat Urbana 185-191 at Urbana Country Club.

Medalist Grant Ricketts led the Raiders with a 40. T.J. Fink (47), Garret Dunn (47), and Colin Headings (51) also contributed.

Urbana was paced by Dillon Knueven with a 43.

Benjamin Logan is back in action Tuesday at Liberty Hills against Bellefontaine and Urbana.

Riverside defeated host Fairlawn 222-231 at Shelby Oaks.

Landon Kelsey was medalist with a 41. Ross Stevens followed with a 57.

Jared Trabert and Derek Kobylack both shot 62. Luke Lowery fired a 66 and Andrew Wright recorded an 88.

For Fairlawn, Ben Brautigam shot a team-low 55.
