Updated: Davis ties record, Lakers beat Triad; Soccer scoreboard

A local soccer star tied a school record Monday night.

Indian Lake sophomore Connor Davis scored six goals in a 9-3 win at Triad.

Davis tied the mark set by Jordan McKinley in 1999.

Dustin Roby scored twice and Brandon Gillen added a goal.

Roby delivered three assists.

Elijah Knief had two saves and Tyler Rode had one.

For Triad, Orecchio, Arthur, and Benedum each scored goals.

Goalie Sam Carson recorded five saves.

The Lakers (2-0) will visit Lima Bath Saturday. The JV match will begin at five p.m. and the varsity will start around seven p.m.

Girls Soccer

West Liberty-Salem opened its season with a 4-0 win against visiting Urbana.

Freshman Lilly Yoder tallied two goals for the Tigers. Morgan Freyhof and Annika Wolfe each added a goal.

Freyhof and Abigail Rabenstein each assisted.

April Kelley had two saves in the shutout.

WLS will play at home Saturday morning at 11:30.

8 and Under

Calvary #1 defeated Calvary #2 3-2 at Huntsville Fields Saturday.

Evan Patton and Graham Studebaker each lead the Spartans with unassisted goals.

Abigail Reinhard shined on defense.
