Updated: WLS gets spiked by M-burg, Calvary Christian wins – Tuesday scores

Several local volleyball teams were in action Tuesday.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls lost to Mechanicsburg in 5 sets: 25-18, 17-25, 17-25, 25-21, and 15-12.

Kylie Gilroy delivered 34 assists, Jamie Peterson recorded 16 kills, Rachel Loffing tallied 10 kills, and Kylee Hormann totaled 9 kills.

The West Liberty-Salem JV team fell to Mechanicsburg in 2 sets: 25-19 and 25-16.

The Benjamin Logan varsity team lost at Springfield Shawnee in straight sets. The scores were 25-21, 26-24, and 25-19. The Raiders fall to 7-3 on the season.

Taylor Quay had 18 kills, Darien King delivered 12 digs, Jennifer Poling tallied 8 kills, and Tayler Rose dished out 21 assists.

The JV Raiders dropped their first match of the season moving their record to 9-1.

Bri Fraizer had 7 service points and 6 assists. Coreen Crosby recorded 5 service points, 3 kills, and 1 solo block.

The freshman Raiders moved their record to 3-0 with a win over Shawnee. The scores were 25-22, 19-25, and 25-19.

Coreen Crosby recorded 6 kills and 10 points. Allie Wilson had 3 kills and 4 points.

All three Benjamin Logan teams are back in action Thursday evening at home against Urbana. The freshman game starts at 4:30.

The Indian Lake varsity fell at Tipp City in five games. The scores were 25-21, 22-25, 27-25, 18-25, and 4-15.

Michelle Grider had 5 aces and 3 blocks, Sammi Miller delivered 16 digs, and Sydney Miller tallied 26 digs.

The JV Lakers lost 25-17, 25-23.

Indian Lake will host Greenon Wednesday night.

The Calvary Christian varsity team defeated Oakstone Academy in 5 sets: 18-25, 25-14, 20-25, 25-13, and 15-7.

Calvary Christian improves to 1-1.

The Benjamin Logan 8th grade lost to Springfield Shawnee in 2 sets: 25-22 and 25-10.

Kinzie Jones recorded 4 kills and 3 assists and Brooke Cotner added 3 digs.

The Benjamin Logan 7th grade lost in 2 sets: 25-19, 25-21.

Maddie Bechtel served 9 points with 2 aces and Sarah VanDyke added 4 kills and an ace.
