Chiefs, Tigers both go 2-1 Saturday - volleyball scoreboard

Bellefontaine participated in the Piqua Invitational Saturday, where seven teams were in attendance.

Bellefontaine played Cincinnati Hills first and won 18-25, 25-23, 25-23. Next up was Piqua and a win 20-25, 25-16, 25-16.

The Lady Chiefs then played Coldwater in the championship match, losing 20-25, 16-25.

Combined stats for the day were Kenzie Brunswick with 31 kills, perfect serving and 28 digs; Jazmyn Haley 18 kills; Kameren Haley 14 kills; Jordan Lininger 62 assists, 38 for 41 serving; Amanda Case 35 digs; Michaela Baker 20 digs; and Georgia Cooper with a good all-around game.

The Chiefs travel to Sidney Monday.

West Liberty-Salem was at a tournament in Minster Saturday, where the Lady Tigers won two matches and lost one.

WL-S lost to Botkins 17-25, 25-22 and 22-25, defeated Covington 25-19 and 25-21, and finally defeated Lincolnview 25-14 and 25-20.

Riverside split a tri-meet, defeating Triad 25-17, 25-20 before falling to North Union 13-25, 9-25.

In the win, Taylor Stevens had 8 digs; Sam Egbert 7 digs and 10 assists; Jessica Davis 7 digs and 8 points; Helena Faulder 5 points with 3 aces; Lauryn Davis 5 points; Kerri Meade 10 kills; and Brooke Hickey 4 kills.

In match two, Kerri Meade had 3 kills and Jessica Davis 2 points.

The Lady Pirates are now 4-9 overall.

The Jr. Lady Tigers swept South Vienna on Saturday.

The eighth grade defeated South Vienna in two sets 25-10 and 25-18. It was an all-around great game for the Tigers.

The seventh grade defeated South Vienna in two sets 25-18 and 25-21. Kelsey Day had 10 points and Olivia Milliron had 8 points for the Tigers.
