Several area junior high volleyball teams hit the court Monday.
The Bellefontaine 8th grade topped Mad River in 3 sets: 25-18, 20-25, and 25-22.
The team came out strong in game 1 taking an early 5-2 lead after Mady Stratton served 3 straight aces. As the game progressed the team continued to stay a few points up, fighting for every point. Late in the game Mikayla Stepp pushed for 3 points putting the chiefs up 21-16.
Game two started with strong serving from Brittany Case as she helped lead the Lady Chiefs on a 4 point run. Unfortunately following this run the Lady Chiefs saw a serving struggle.
Madison Aldo began game 3 with a 4 point serving run to help push the Lady Chiefs to an early 14-7 lead. The team continued to fight seeing strong net play from Zoe Price and Dreona Hughes while Kiersten King, Julie Downing, and Madison Aldo played strong defense.
The 8th grade Lady Chiefs play at home Wednesday.
The Bellefontaine 7th grade defeated Mad River in 2 sets: 25-21 and 25-20.
Avery Moore scored 9 earned points and Gracie Beaverson and Macie Schaffer each added 5 points.
The offense was led by the setting of Anya Nunez and Amy Fulmer.
The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade beat Cedarville in 2 sets: 25-13 and 27-25.
Macy Murphy totaled 11 points and Abby Dillon added 9 points.
The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade defeated Cedarville in 2 sets: 25-22 and 25-20.
Kelsey Day produced 14 points and Kaylee Harrison, Olivia Milliron, and Arrah Sandy each added 4 points.
The Indian Lake 8th grade fell to Graham in 3 sets: 25-18, 14-25, and 25-17.
Madisyn Neal recorded 2 aces and 5 kills; Lauren Anderson totaled 5 digs, 3 aces, and 2 kills; and Libby Cotterman added 6 kills and 5 digs.
The Indian Lake 7th grade topped Graham in 2 sets: 26-24 and 25-20.
Amber Seeley was 14-of-15 serving with 5 aces, Macey Hurley and Belle Elliott each contributed 2 aces, Kelly Shoffner tallied 3 kills, and Nya Worrell added 6 hits.
