Updated: Lady Pirates spike Ridgemont, Lady Tigers roll – Thursday volleyball finals

Riverside vs. RidgemontArea volleyball teams were in action Thursday.

The Riverside varsity girls topped visiting Ridgemont in 4 sets: 21-25, 25-19, 25-20, and 25-22.

Kerri Meade blasted 12 kills, Jessica Davis recorded 10 points with 6 aces, 4 digs, and 5 kills, Sam Egbert tallied 9 points with 4 aces and 15 assists, Brooke Hickey totaled 9 points and 10 assists, and Taylor Stevens contributed 4 digs.

Riverside improves to 6-9 overall and 3-1 in league play.

The Riverside JV lost to Ridgemont in 2 sets: 25-12 and 25-11.

The Indian Lake varsity rallied past host Graham in five sets: 16-25, 24-26, 25-20, 25-18, and 15-13.

Sydney Miller had 8 aces and 39 digs. Sammi Miller had a big night serving.

The Lakers are 3-4 in the CBC.

The JV Lakers fell to the Falcons 25-14, 25-15.

The Benjamin Logan varsity team swept visiting Northwestern 25-20, 25-16, and 25-23.

Taylor Quay and Alex Thompson each had 10 kills and 3 blocks. Brittany Burton added 11 points.

Benjamin Logan is 11-4 overall and 5-2 in league play.

The JV Raiders beat the Warriors in 2 sets: 25-18 and 25-19.

Addie Rodenberger recorded 10 points, Autumn Walborn had 7 kills, and Brianna Frazier had 9 kills and dished out 12 assists.

The reserves are 13-2.

The freshman Raiders beat Marion Pleasant in 2 sets.

Allie Wilson had 7 assists and 3 aces, Coreen Crosby had 6 kills, and Ashley Armstrong recorded 9 points with 3 aces. Their record improves to 5-1.

The varsity Raiders will travel to Marion Elgin Saturday to play in the Sherill Applefeller Classic.  The first game will begin at 10 a.m.

The Bellefontaine varsity team lost to state-ranked Kenton Ridge in four games: 15-25, 23-25, 25-22, and 16-25.

Kenzie Brunswick had 12 kills and 12 digs, Kameren Haley recorded 10 kills and 14 digs, Jordan Lininger delivered 28 assists, Jazmyn Haley tallied 9 kills and 10 digs, Amanda Case had 16 digs, and Carley Strzalka had 9 digs.

The JV Chiefs fell 25-11, 25-18.

The freshman team outlasted Piqua in three games: 18-25, 25-23, 25-19.

Bellefontaine will host Benjamin Logan in a tripleheader Tuesday at 4:30.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls defeated Triad in 4 sets: 25-9, 25-18, 16-25, and 25-23.

Rachel Loffing had 16 kills and 2 aces, Jamie Peterson recorded 13 kills and 23 digs, Kylie Gilroy tallied 35 assists and 12 digs, and Rachel Ritter delivered 14 digs and 2 aces.

The West Liberty-Salem JV won over Triad in 3 sets: 25-12, 23-25, and 25-23.

Emily Schultz had 9 consecutive serves in the third set, Kiana Reames recorded 12 points, and Miranda Etgen added a block.

The Benjamin Logan 8th grade fell to Graham in 2: 25-14 and 26-24.

Stanleigh Archer recorded 2 aces, 4 assists, 2 kills, and a touch block, Kinzie Jones had 3 aces, 6 assists, and 3 kills, and Avery Braun had 2 aces, a touch block, and a dig.

The Benjamin Logan 7th grade lost to Graham in 3 sets: 25-17, 19-25, and 25-12.

Sydney Kossel tallied 3 aces, 4 assists, and 2 kills, Sarah Vandyke produced 3 kills and a touch block, and Lexi Worrell added a touch block.

Benjamin Logan will host Bellefontaine and Indian Lake Saturday.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade topped Greeneview in 2 sets: 25-13 and 25-14.

Leah Kauffman tallied 8 points and Laura Roman added 6 points.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade defeated Greeneview in 3 sets: 23-25, 25-22, and 25-15.

Breann Koons recorded 14 points and Hallie Strapp contributed 11 points.
