Jr. High Tigers edge Mechanicsburg - Youth gridiron finals

The West Liberty-Salem Jr. High football team used a late defensive stand to edge rival Mechanicsburg 22-18 Thursday night.

The Tigers stopped the Indians on a 4th and 1 to seal the win.

Braden Miller had a 64-yard touchdown run.

He also threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Levi Moell.

Moell added a 17-yard TD run.

Tevon McNutt and Max Gehl had two-point conversions.

WLS Flag Football:

Team Orange beat Team Gray 2-1 to improve to 2-1 on the season.

For Orange, Peyton Hull had a TD pass to Joey LaRoche. Josh Wilcoxon added a rushing TD.

Team Gray, now 1-2, had a rushing TD from Tyler Green. Eli Allen sparked the defense with an interception.

Team Black handled Team White 5-1.

For Black, Dylan Wing tossed 4 TD passes, 2 to Jacob Griffith, 1 to Jayden Temple, and 1 to Gabe McGill.

McGill added a rushing TD and Jacob Griffith had an interception.

Team Black is 3-0.

For White (0-3), Gabriel Boysel had a rushing TD.

Next Thursday at 6 pm at Lions Park, Team Orange takes on Team Black and Team Gray will face Team White.

Hilliker YMCA Flag Football:

Team 1 beat Team 2 18-12.

Carston McCain led the winners with a 75-yard TD run and a 55-yard reception.

Camden Spriggs had a 15-yard touchdown catch.

Colin Powell delivered a 70-yard TD run.

Alex Caudill, Gage Pope, and Isreal Sutherin led the defense.
