Updated: Chieftains down Lakers; Tigers, Cards continue to roll (Audio included)

Bellefontaine vs. Indian LakeDespite giving up a touchdown to visiting Indian Lake in the first few minutes of the game, Bellefontaine fought its way back to post a 38-27 win over the Lakers as heard on 1390 WBLL Friday.

The Lakers dominated the stat sheet, outgaining the Chiefs 481 yards to 244 yards.

Indian Lake was hurt by three lost fumbles, an interception, and 8 penalties for 88 yards.

Special teams were key, too.

Bellefontaine speedster A.J. Gorham returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter after Indian Lake had taken a 14-0 lead.

The Chiefs also recorded a safety after an errant snap to Indian Lake punter Hunter Vance in the second quarter.

The Lakers put together a 95-yard TD drive right before the half to take a 21-16 lead into the locker room.

Indian Lake senior fullback L.J. Henderson dominated the first half with 189 yards rushing, including an 82-yard TD run on the first play of the second quarter.

Henderson finished with 242 yards on 26 carries. He was named the Steve Austin's Player of the Game.

Bellefontaine junior wide receiver Daniel Boy had another outstanding game. He had touchdown receptions of 9 and 33 yards. Boy also caught a 2-point conversion.

Jordan Baughman rushed for 112 yards on 29 carries. He had TD runs of 10 and 5 yards.

The Chiefs are 3-2; the Lakers are 1-4.

Bellefontaine will host Tipp City next week for Homecoming. Indian Lake will travel to Graham.

Three huge first-half plays – including two 70-plus yard TD passes - carried Lehman to a 21-0 halftime lead on its way to a 57-0 shellacking of host Riverside, as heard on 98.3 WPKO Friday.

The Pirates are 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the NWCC. The Cavaliers move to 4-1, 2-0.

As streamed on PeakofOhio.com, West Liberty-Salem squashed host Northeastern 49-23 to improve to 5-0 on the season.

The Tigers led 35-3 at the half and 49-3 after three quarters.

Triad continued to roll as the Cardinals dropped visiting Greeneview 34-7.

Triad outscored the Rams 20-0 in the second half.

The Cardinals are 5-0, 2-0; the Rams are 3-2, 1-1.

Ridgemont bounced back from last week’s loss to Riverside with a convincing 33-8 win over visiting Millersport. The Gophers are 2-2.

Tipp City blanked Benjamin Logan 69-0.

The Red Devils are 5-0. The Raiders are 0-5.

Mechanicsburg continued its strong season with a 26-20 win over host Cedarville. Both teams are 4-1.

Urbana outscored host Dayton Stebbins 48-22.

The Hillclimbers are 5-0. The Indians are 3-2.

Tecumseh pasted Graham 49-13.

Kenton Ridge handled Northwestern 43-12.

Springfield Shawnee steamrolled Greenon 61-0.

Ft. Loramie rolled at Waynesfield-Goshen 63-7.

The Redskins are 4-1. The Tigers are 0-5.

Lima Perry defeated Upper Scioto Valley 25-19.

Kenton blanked Lima Shawnee 46-0. The Wildcats are 5-0.

Sidney stomped Belmont 69-0 to improve to 3-2.

Wapakoneta was a 29-26 winner over Celina. Both teams are 4-1.

Dublin Coffman edged Marysville 31-28.

Ada outscored Bluffton 36-24.

River Valley sacked Fairbanks 52-14.

North Union blasted Marion Elgin 61-28.

St. Henry stifled New Bremen 42-0.

Marion Local shut out Versailles 28-0.

Coldwater beat Minster 35-13.

Lima Bath defeated St. Marys 27-21.
