The West Liberty-Salem Lady Tigers placed 9th out of 13 teams at the Buck Creek Invitational on Saturday.
Senior Alyssa Strickland led the way for the Big Orange, placing 5th.
Katie Hartsel (28), Jenna Magnuson (53), Leah Cole (67), Madison Woodruff (82), Bethany Painter (111), and Grace Edwards (118).
The WL-S middle school girls 5th out of 13 teams at Buck Creek.
Reghan Bieleski paced the Big Orange with a 6th place finish.
Other finishers: Joanna Csillag (20), Kaeley Lattimer (33), Ashley Black (48), Anna Louden (57), Taylor Henault (75), Maddie Estes (84), Rachel McGill (85), and Anna Edwards (99).
The Big Orange boys finished 4th out of 18 teams at the Buck Creek Invitational.
"I was extremely proud of our performance today against a field that included Russia, Spr. Shawnee, Vandalia Butler, and Xenia, along with many other solid programs. The injection of both Joey Adams and Alex Steiner back in the rotation returning from injuries was such a huge confidence boost for our team. With that said, I really like our position heading into the post season these next five weeks."
Adams finished 7th in the 203 runner field.

The Big Orange Middle School Boys finished 6th out of 11 teams at the Buck Creek Invitational. The race featured 105 runners.
Isaac Smith was the top finisher at 22.
Other finishers: Peter Gelett (29), Jordan Lewis (32), Richard Godwin (55), and Gabe Lewis (72).

Also at Buck Creek was the Bellefontaine Middle School teams.
The Jr. Lady Chiefs finished 7th out of 13 teams. Top finishers for the team included Aubrey Stolly (3), Brooke Chapman (31), Bailey Morales (61), Justine Scherer (80), Haley Price (91), Kaitey Chervenak (97), MacKenzie Schwartz (106), Caroline Eader (108), and McKenzie Haley (110).
The Jr. Chieftain boys finished 7th out of 11 teams. Top finishers for the team included Domonic Wilson (4), Tate Schmittauer (33), Jacob Karg (48), Logan Lamb (67), Trey Henderson (86), Gage Buffkin (96), and Weston Rose (100).
Both teams will be back in action at the Anna Rocket Invitational on Saturday, October 5th.
The Riverside runners participated in the Botkins Invitational.
Participants included 7th grader Jaxon Heath; for the girls (in order), it was Junior Ella Jackson, Sophomore Emily Teague, and Junior Rita Winner. For the varsity boys (in order), it was Sophomore Brett Rappold, Junior Ben Rappold, Sophomore Blaine Walter, and freshman Lukens Dalton.
