Updated: WLS serves past M-burg; Raiders sweep Graham – Thursday volleyball scores

Varsity Lady TigersArea volleyball teams were in action Thursday.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls topped Mechanicsburg in 4 sets: 25-22, 24-26, 25-23, and 25-19.

Rachel Ritter, Rachel Loffing, and Kylee Hormann each recorded 14 digs. Jamie Peterson totaled 20 kills and 5 aces.

The varsity Lady Tigers improve to 10-7.

The West Liberty-Salem JV fell to Mechanicsburg in 2 sets: 25-18, 25-21.

Emily Schultz tallied 7 digs, Olivia Ames delivered 6 digs, Miranda Etgen contributed 5 points and 3 assists, and Abby Stewart added 4 kills.

The JV Lady Tigers fall to 6-8.

The Benjamin Logan varsity team improved to 13-7 overall and 6-2 in league play after a 3-set victory over host Graham. The scores were 26-24, 25-13, and 25-23.

Alex Thompson led the attack with 14 kills and 6 blocks. Taylor Quay blasted 8 kills, Jennifer Poling recorded 7 kills, and Katie Bisel added 5 kills. Brittany Burton was perfect serving with 11 points and dished out 7 assists.

The JV Raiders improved to 15-2 after a 2-set victory over Graham. Coreen Crosby and Addie Rodenberger each had 4 kills. Betsy King dished out 12 assists and came up with 8 digs. Natalie Drumm added 6 digs.

The freshman Raiders improved to 6-1 on the season with a 2-set victory over Graham. The scores were 25-11, 25-20. Ashley Wilkins recorded 5 kills, Aundria Sheeley added 3 kills and 4 digs, and Ashley Armstrong tallied 10 points with 3 aces.

The freshman return to the court on Saturday morning in a home tri-match against Bellefontaine and Ft. Loramie. Game time is 10:00. The JV and varsity Raiders will travel to Urbana next Tuesday.

Jr. High:

The Benjamin Logan 8th grade team fell to host Northwestern in the first round of the CBC tournament in two games: 25-16, 25-15.

Kinzie Jones had 3 kills, 3 assists, and 3 aces, Stanleigh Archer recorded 2 kills and 2 assists, and Avery Braun added a kill.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade lost to Miami View in 3 sets: 16-25, 25-23, and 13-25.

Abby Dillon tallied 8 points and Leah Kauffman added 7 points.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade defeated Miami View in 3 sets: 15-25, 25-15, and 25-16.

Hallie Strapp recorded 14 points and Kaylee Harrison contributed 11 points.
