Jr. Tigers shut out Cedarville - Youth football finals

A few area youth football teams hit the gridiron Thursday.

The West Liberty-Salem Jr. High team shut out Cedarville 20-0.

Braden Miller had a 6-yard touchdown run, Kasey Kite hauled in a 43-yard touchdown pass, and Tevon McNutt scored on a 19-yard touchdown pass.

The defense played well and recorded a safety.

The Tigers are 3-3 on the season.

West Liberty Flag Football:

Team Gray handed Team Black their first loss of the season 3-2.

For Gray, now 2-2-1, James Powell tossed 3 TD passes, 2 to Eli Allen and 1 to Austin Olejniczak. Powell added an interception on defense.

For Black, who falls to 4-1, Dylan Wing and Jacob Griffith each threw TD passes. Wing and Gabe McGill each had receiving TDs.

Team White scored a last-second TD to tie Team Orange 3-3.

For White (0-3-2), Lee Burkett tossed a TD pass to Cody Crawford. Crawford also added 2 rushing TDs.

For Orange, who is now 2-2-1, Peyton Hull tossed TD passes to Joey LaRoche and Riggs Lapp. Josh Wilcoxon added a rushing TD.

The West Liberty-Salem Flag Football concludes their season next Thursday at 6 pm at Lions Park. Team Orange will take on Team Gray and Team Black will play Team White.

Hilliker YMCA Flag Football League:

Team 1 outscored Team 4 20-7.

Riley Neer had a 70-yard touchdown run.

Matt Mott hauled in a 40-yard touchdown pass from Alex Caudill. Mott added a two-point conversion.

Caudill had a 30-yard touchdown pass from Carston Spriggs.

Spriggs delivered a 40-yard TD catch on the final play of the game.

Mott sparked the defense with an interception.

Caleb Sutherin had a big stop to save a touchdown and Collin Powell made a couple of stops.
