Tigers open tourney with a win - volleyball scoreboard

West Liberty-Salem beat Arcanum in three sets 25-20, 25-8 and 25-20 in their DIII tournament opener.

Kylee Hormann had 6 kills; Rachel Loffing had 5 kills and 5 ace serves; Rachel Ritter had 8 digs; and Jamie Peterson had 10 kills, 8 total blocks and 11 digs.

Other D III results from Brookville High School:

Houston defeated National Trail - 25-20, 25-16, 25-15.

Milton Union defeated Mississinawa Valley - 25-18, 25-8, 25-17.

Miami East defeated Northridge - 25-1, 25-6, 25-4.

The West Liberty-Salem Jr. High teams participated in the OHC tournament on Saturday.

For the 8th grade, the Tigers beat Triad in two sets 25-18, 28-26. Allie Yoder scored 8 points and Tory Cordell 6 points.

In game 2, WL-S lost to Miami View in three sets 20-25, 25-21, 20-25. Cordell scored 10 pts and Allie Yoder 7 points.

They finished the season 10-8.

The Tiger 7th grade opened with a win over Cedarville in two sets 25-11, 25-13. Hallie Strapp scored 14 points and Breann Koons 6 points.

The Tigers also won their second game against South Vienna in two sets 25-15, 25-17. Strapp scored 14 points, Kaylee Harrison 7 points, and Arrah Sandy 7 points.

In their final match, WL-S lost to Greeneview in two sets 19-25, 22-25. Strapp scored 13 points.

The seventh grade finished the season 17-2.
