Benjamin Logan Local Schools will welcome local veterans and their guests for its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at Benjamin Logan High School.
Hosted by Benjamin Logan Student Government, this long-standing tradition will begin with a complimentary, student-prepared Veterans Breakfast at 8:00 a.m., followed by the ceremony at 8:45 a.m.
This year’s guest speaker, Greta Batton, a 1987 Benjamin Logan graduate and 26-year United States Air Force veteran, will return to her alma mater for the occasion. During her years at Benjamin Logan, Batton participated in band, choir, theater, and other student activities. Following her military retirement in 2014, she continued her commitment to service through the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Rotary, and other community organizations.
The ceremony will feature student band and choir performances, readings, and heartfelt tributes recognizing the service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans.
A special highlight will be the presentation of an American flag flown above the Logan County Courthouse in October. A Logan County Commissioner will present the flag to a military veteran selected for this honor by the Logan County Veterans Office.
The annual event brings generations together, providing students with a meaningful opportunity to connect with local veterans and recognize the importance of military service in their community.
Local veterans and their guests are warmly invited to attend. To help the district prepare for their visit, attendees are encouraged to RSVP by calling the Benjamin Logan High School office at 937-592-1666.
