West Liberty First Church of God, 315 Liberty Street, West Liberty, invites you to come to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).  This is a worldwide, peer-led support group for people who struggle with alcohol addiction. It was founded in 1935 and is based on a 12-step program that emphasizes personal growth, spiritual development, and mutual support.

Key features of AA include:

Anonymity: Members are encouraged to remain anonymous to protect privacy and create a safe, nonjudgmental space.
12 Steps: A structured set of principles designed to help individuals recover from alcoholism through reflection, accountability, and spiritual awakening (though it’s not tied to any specific religion).
Meetings: Regular gatherings (in-person or online) where members share their experiences, struggles, and successes in staying sober.
Fellowship: A sense of community and mutual support among people facing similar challenges.
Sponsorship: More experienced members often mentor newer ones to guide them through recovery.
AA is free to attend, open to anyone with a desire to stop drinking, and operates independently of political or religious institutions.
