In a world of stick and ball sports, 12-year-old Jerome Wickham, has chosen an unconventional path to pursue his passion.
Born on December 12, 2012 (12/12/12- hence the team name 123 Motorsports), Jerome has a rare genetic metabolic bone disease called X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), which affects up to 1 in 20,000 people. He advocates for the XLH Network (XLH.org) and attends events with his family to connect with others who share his experiences.
A gifted student at Bellefontaine Middle School, Jerome aspires to earn an engineering degree and find a job in aerospace or auto racing. He also competes in VEX V5 robotics competitions during the off-season.
