Discovery Sunday Event Details:
With the one-day-only Discovery Sunday Tour Package, guests will receive both summer cavern tours, and more.
The Historic Tour will be a Special, One-Day-Only, Lantern-Lit Tour, where each guest will be provided a lantern to light their way through the caverns. Lanterns can be just used for the tour OR purchased to keep as an add-on to the experience online or in-person. Guests will then enjoy the beauty and awe-inspiring sights of the Natural Wonder Tour.
Guests with Discovery Sunday Tour Package tickets also receive a FREE Gem Mining Bag with each ticket!
Other Details:
-State-Geologist Garry Getz will be on-site assisting with Gem Mining identification and a hands-on rock and mineral table.
-The Central Ohio Cave Grotto will be here doing demos and activities with guests.
-Stoner’s Ice Cream Parlor on-site with special Ohio Caverns-themed Sundaes.

More surprises, giveaways, plus normal tour options and regular daily activities will also be available throughout the day.

Ohio Caverns has been bringing visitors into Logan and Champaign counties for 129 years. They are celebrating their 1897 discovery in style, offering unique tours, packages, activities, and giveaways all day during a new anniversary celebration event on Sunday August 16, 2026.
