One person was seriously injured in an early-morning crash Saturday in Logan County that deputies say may have involved alcohol.
The crash happened around 5:25 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 130 and County Road 13, where a 2013 Nissan Altima left the roadway and hit a utility pole, snapping it at the base.
The driver, Jackie Taylor, 30, of Bellefontaine, was able to escape the vehicle by breaking a window and climbing out, suffering minor injuries during the crash.
The passenger, Kylea Page, 36, of Bellefontaine, was wearing a seat belt and was thrown into the windshield on impact.
She had to be freed from the vehicle by fire and EMS crews.
Page was then transported by Bellefontaine EMS to a helipad and flown to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for treatment.
Deputies at the scene suspected Taylor was under the influence of alcohol.
She failed field sobriety tests before being transported by Huntsville EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital.
While at the hospital, she agreed to provide a blood sample for alcohol testing.
Samples were collected and sent to the Ohio State Highway Patrol crime lab.
The vehicle was towed from the scene by Tops Towing.
Taylor was cited for failure to control and operating a vehicle under the influence, based on observed impairment as a contributing factor in the crash.
She is scheduled to appear in court later this week.
The investigation remains ongoing pending blood test results.
