Bellefontaine Police arrested two people after a reported strong-arm robbery Tuesday afternoon at a laundromat on North Hayes Street.
Officers were called to the 300 block of North Hayes Street around 3:30 p.m.
The 72-year-old victim told police he was sitting inside the laundromat when a man wearing a black hoodie and glasses allegedly hit him several times, knocked him to the floor, and took his wallet.
The victim also told police the suspect threatened to kill him.
He was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital for evaluation and was later found to have no major injuries.
Police obtained surveillance images and identified the suspect as 35-year-old Jonathan Rhoads, of Bellefonaine.
Officers found Rhoads at a camper behind a residence on Linden Street and took him into custody.
Police say another person, Lena Hudson, 21, of Bellefontaine, was also inside the camper.
According to the report, Hudson confirmed that she and Rhoads were at the business during the robbery.
Police initially searched a wooded area after Hudson said the victim’s wallet had been thrown there.
The wallet was later found inside the camper in a trash bag.
Officers obtained a search warrant for the camper and found the wallet, clothing believed to have been worn during the robbery, and two cell phones.
No operable firearms were found.
Police returned the wallet and its contents to the victim.
Rhoads was lodged in the Logan County Jail on charges of robbery, tampering with evidence, theft from a protected class, and aggravated menacing.
Hudson was arrested and charged with obstructing official business.
