A late-night traffic stop on Saturday in Bellefontaine resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Bellefontaine police reported that around 11:27 p.m., officers were on patrol when they noticed a black Dodge pickup reversing onto North Main Street with its rear lights illuminated while moving forward.
Officers then initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of West Brown Avenue.
The driver, 23-year-old Joplyn J. Blosser, was accompanied by three passengers: a front-seat female, 31-year-old Morganne Landon, and two males in the rear, 38-year-old Christopher Steffey (the registered owner) and 33-year-old Quinten Turner.
Police then found that none of the people in the vehicle had a valid driver’s license, and Landon had an outstanding warrant from the Wapakoneta Police Department in Auglaize County.
During the stop, officers saw a small plastic baggie and a ball of foil on the ground near Turner.
The baggie contained a crystallized substance suspected to be methamphetamine, while the ball of foil and another baggie were consistent with narcotics packaging.
Turner was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence.
Officers also recovered a prescription bottle of Buprenorphine, syringes, cotton filters, and other drug paraphernalia from Turner’s book bag.
A search of the vehicle would reveal a blue book bag containing a glass meth pipe, syringes, and additional drug paraphernalia.
Handwritten notes and a pair of sweatpants in the bag were later determined to belong to Blosser.
She was arrested and charged with possessing drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia, in addition to a probation violation and driving without a license.
Landon was taken into custody solely on her outstanding warrant.
The investigation was assisted by K9 Pyro and several other officers from the Bellefontaine Police Department.
