Patriotism was on full display Monday morning as the Bellefontaine community gathered for its annual Memorial Day parade, which drew a record-breaking turnout.

More than 100 entries made their way down Main Street, marking the largest parade in the event’s history.

Spectators lined the streets, waving flags and honoring those who have served, as a marching band, veterans groups, first responders, and community organizations participated in the procession.

The parade route concluded at Bellefontaine Cemetery, where attendees gathered for a solemn ceremony to reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day.

The event featured remarks from veteran Art Rausch, who served as the guest speaker.

Rausch spoke about the sacrifices made by service members and the importance of remembering those who gave their lives in defense of the nation.

The strong turnout and record number of participants underscored the community’s continued commitment to honoring its veterans and preserving the spirit of Memorial Day.
