Choir teacher arrested on importuning charge, district comments

Bellefontaine City Schools Superintendent Brad Hall issued the following statement early Monday morning:

“Bellefontaine City Schools was informed this morning that a staff member, Brice Henry, was arrested early today by the Bellefontaine Police Department on an importuning charge. The alleged incident took place off school grounds and did not occur on school property. However, we take these allegations with the utmost seriousness. The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and school community remain our absolute highest priority. Effective immediately, the employee has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the legal process, and all access to district facilities and systems has been revoked. Bellefontaine City Schools is cooperating fully with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation. Because this is an active criminal matter and a confidential personnel issue, the district cannot provide further details at this time. All inquiries regarding the criminal investigation should be directed to the Bellefontaine Police Department.”

A Bellefontaine City Schools choir teacher has been arrested on an importuning charge involving a juvenile.

According to Logan County Jail records, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office booked 33-year-old Brice Henry early Monday morning.

Henry is facing a charge under Ohio Revised Code 2907.07(B), described as importuning involving a victim who is 13, 14, or 15 years old.
