Strong winds across the area are causing widespread disruptions, including road accidents and closures, power outages, and building damage.
Several semis have been overturned, including one pictured below on State Route 117 in Huntsville.

Authorities warn that high winds have the potential to knock over trees and power poles and blow debris around, which could damage buildings, such as the Shriners’ building in Huntsville below, as well as vehicles and other structures.



Road Closures

US 33: Closed from Lakeview to the Auglaize County line due to overturned semis.

SR 720: Closed between CR 84 and CR 86 following an accident.

US 68: Closed at Twp 30 due to downed power lines in the roadway. Many other power lines are reportedly down across the roadway.
Power outages are impacting thousands of residents. AES reports approximately 67,000 customers without power, while the Logan County Electric Cooperative reports over 20 customers affected. Both outage maps can be found below HERE (AES) and HERE (Logan County Electric Cooperative).
Closures
Due to the outages, Logan County Court of Common Pleas, Family Court, and Clerk of Courts offices are closed until power is restored.

Active Brush Fire in Lakeview
Firefighters from the Lakeview Fire Department, Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department, and the Indian Joint Fire District are battling an active, wind-aided brush fire in Lakeview, endangering homes near Poplar Court at the intersection of Pine Street. Authorities urge residents in the area to stay clear of emergency operations and follow safety instructions.
