Juvenile airlifted following motorcycle crash in Logan County

A juvenile sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon north of Bellefontaine and was airlifted to a Columbus hospital for treatment.

According to the Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department, emergency crews from Huntsville and Bellefontaine responded shortly after noon to the intersection of U.S. Route 68 North and County Road 57 in McArthur Township on reports of an injury motorcycle crash.

Upon arrival, first responders located the motorcycle off the roadway along with two individuals involved in the incident.

Due to the severity of the juvenile’s injuries, a medical helicopter was requested to the scene.

The injured juvenile was transported to a nearby landing zone before being flown by MedFlight to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

A second patient involved in the crash declined medical treatment at the scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Marysville Post is investigating the crash.

Authorities have not yet released information regarding the cause of the accident or the juvenile’s current condition.
