A Bellefontaine man suffered minor injuries after his SUV overturned while attempting to avoid a deer Tuesday night.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on westbound U.S. 33 at the intersection of County Road 57.
The crash report says a 2017 Lincoln Navigator driven by 36-year-old Gregory Russell, of Bellefontaine, swerved to avoid hitting a deer, causing the vehicle to leave the right side of the roadway and overturn twice.
Russell sustained minor injuries and was evaluated at the scene by Bellefontaine EMS.
He was not transported from the scene.
The crash temporarily closed U.S. 33 while emergency crews responded.
Deputies cited Russell for failure to control.
His vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

A rollover crash temporarily shut down the intersection of U.S. 33 and County Road 57 late Tuesday night around 10:15 PM.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the roadway was closed for a short time while the crash was investigated and cleared.
