Logan County residents came together this Sunday afternoon for the annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser, hosted by Lutheran Community Services.

This year, the event was organized in partnership with the United Way of Logan County, benefiting one food pantry from each of the county’s five school districts:

  • Bellefontaine – Lutheran Community Services
  • Indian Lake – United Christian Services
  • Riverside – Five Loaves Food Pantry at Quincy Methodist Church
  • Ben Logan – Rushchurch / Rushsylvania Church of Christ
  • West Liberty- West Liberty Cares Oak Grove Mennonite Church

Guests at the fundraiser enjoyed a unique community experience: a handmade bowl, a hearty serving of soup and bread from local restaurants, and a sweet dessert.

Attendees left with a one-of-a-kind bowl, handcrafted by local artisans and donated by The Cracked Pot Studio, Bellefontaine City Schools, Benjamin Logan Local School District, Indian Lake Schools, and other talented potters.

“This event is a simple but powerful reminder that some of our neighbors in Logan County face hunger every day,” said United Way of Logan County’s Jamie Morley.
