A traffic stop in Bellefontaine led to a methamphetamine arrest Monday night.
According to police, the stop happened just before 8:00 PM on East Sandusky Avenue near Lakewood Drive.
An officer was following a Honda Accord when he saw the vehicle cross the center line twice and weave within its lane.
The officer also said the driver repeatedly hit the brakes and then continued driving.
The vehicle also had a license plate light that could not be seen from at least 50 feet away.
Police stopped the car and identified the driver as Edwin Ford, 50, of Bellefontaine.
Ford gave officers permission to search the car, and they found a meth pipe with residue wedged between the driver’s seat and center console.
Ford also admitted the pipe was his, telling officers it had fallen out of his pocket, and he was then arrested.
Officers then found a small bag containing suspected methamphetamine inside his coat sleeve.
Ford was taken to the Logan County Jail, where he was lodged on possession of a controlled substance.
