Motorists should plan ahead if traveling through downtown Bellefontaine on Saturday as several streets will close for the annual Pineapple Palooza festival.
Road closures will begin at approximately 11 a.m. Saturday to allow for event setup and will remain in place until midnight.
The following streets will be closed:
- Main Street from 122 N. Main St. to 222 S. Main St.
- Opera Street from 100 N. Opera St. to 200 S. Opera St. (one-way southbound)
- Columbus Avenue from 200 W. Columbus Ave. to 117 E. Columbus Ave.
- Court Avenue from 122 W. Court Ave. to 200 E. Court Ave.
- Chillicothe Avenue from 122 W. Chillicothe Ave. to 200 E. Chillicothe Ave.
The closures are necessary for Pineapple Palooza, which will be held from 2 p.m. to midnight in downtown Bellefontaine.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, expect heavier-than-normal traffic around the downtown area, and allow extra travel time throughout the day and evening.
City officials ask motorists to use caution around pedestrians and to follow all posted detours and traffic control devices while the festival is underway.
